Inside the Mind of Unfollowers 🧠

Why am I getting unfollowed❔
Why am I losing all my followers❔
Am I being shadowbanned❔
Today we’re going to answer all these questions that no one asked for but everyone needed.
These unfollowers of yours, even if they might be a small percentage of activity on your feed they might cause you to doubt yourself and lose hope on Instagram and your content, so that’s why this carousel exists.
You can refer to it whenever you get stuck on this problem once in a while.
No one is invulnerable to this, so you need to read this through ☝
You’ve been unfollowed
WHY? WHAT? WHERE?
You might think this is all your problem at first…
Probably, the reason I say that is because the context changes with each unfollower.
The Con Artist
These types of followers only follow you expecting something of you, in addition to the content your providing.
These people come and go and are no reason you should be freaking out.
Con Artists Target checklist
- Target (you) seems vulnerable
- Deliberately remind the target that you’ve followed
- Engage with as many of a target’s posts to get their attention
- Unfollow (The most important part in a Con Artist’s agenda)
Goof news! Instagram is fighting back against these types of accounts, and they’re going down quick.
But…these aren’t the only types of unfollowers…
Value vampires follow you for your content, you have to accept this. You can’t possibly form a connection with each one of your followers, that costs time and $$$
Now I’ve personally been in this position when it comes to following people and like I said there’s no problem with being a value vampire. However there’s a fix to this, it won’t solve all your problems but It would help out a lot, I’m talking about Personal branding. (DM us for more on personal branding)
You know what followers you could use?
What I like to call The Dwellers (the good kind)
Dwellers are your most loyal followers, those who are there for you from the beginning and support you through your tourney even if you might have some rough patches along the way, they’ll be there for it. Treasure these people, they’re one of a kind.
These folks don’t lust to consume your content, they take action and have genuine interactions with the people they follow.
Why? You ask because they care.
Here the more obvious reasons that are your fault…
- your content sucks
- you constantly spam your followers for likes and comments
- you never reply to their comments and listen to what they have to say.
- you post too much (it matters to some people)
- you are unapproachable you have a ME ONLY mindset (you serve no one but yourself, this can come in the form of dozens of ads or selfish content.)
