Lately I’ve had conversations with several different business owners who run their own Facebook Pages.
Many like boosting posts and others run Facebook Ads 💪
Here I will cover a few differences between both options.
I don’t have a preference, I believe both can be effective depending on your goals.
What option do you like? 🤔
Facebook ads offer many more options for advertisers than a boost and the type of ad you choose to use will depend on what the goal of your campaign is. These options include likes, clicks to website, app installs, app engagement, website conversions, event responses, offer claims, video views & local awareness. You can decide where in Facebook networks you want to display your ad. (Instagram, Messenger etc).
Boosting a post is very easy to do and available for any post on your page’s timeline. All you need to do is click “Boost Post” in the lower right corner of your post.Facebook has improved it’s targeting options on boosting posts and you can boost a post a get good results. If your goal is to drive traffic to your site, boosting a post can work well work for your traffic campaigns.
In conclusion, boosting a post is easy and can yield great results if you have great content on your FB Page. Facebook Ad manager allows more control over who sees your ad and how you pay for it and gives you more targeting details and options. I believe in digital marketing diversification, you need to be everywhere to stay top of mind. Once you find your audience continue to grow in that space, you can find your audience boosting ads or running paid ads.
