Creating vs Curating

Creating vs Curating 💯

Curating is not necessarily stealing, and if you don’t have much time for social media, it could be your best way to build an audience.

Above, I compare creation vs. curation. There are positives and negatives to both.

Hopefully, this helps you to figure out the highest yield strategy to follow on Instagram.

Making something from scratch. Curating
Sharing something created by someone else.
Takes more time and effort. Curating
Efficient way to make content.
You have full control of everything (e.g., branding). Curating
Limited control, with a need to credit the source.
Requires tools. Curating
Can be done with a phone or computer.
Opportunity to be creative. Curating
Doesn't sharpen your creativity.
You need to figure out what works on the platform. Curating
Add your $0.02 to content that's already working.
Novelty. You are the 1st. Curating
You can only be the 2nd. Like a remix.
Adds value if done well. Curating
Adds value if done well.
