How I Overcame Impostor Syndrome

It’s a weird thing. It’s a weird feeling. I struggled with it and still do at times, but much less.

For me, it stemmed from the comparison. Social media is a great place but can also be very dangerous.⠀

I used to compare myself to others all the time.

This created doubt. With doubt comes this notion that what you are doing is not good enough, that you’re a fraud.

I came to realize, that everyone has their lane. Your lane is the right lane. Do good work. Focus on yourself. Learn. Grow. No one has the answers to everything.

When I started to focus on myself and not worry about what others are accomplishing it made my mental so much healthier.

Surprisingly enough, I later came to realize that there are many people who feel this way. Keeping this feeling bottled up inside will only make it worse. I encourage you to talk to someone about it. You can even message me! 😁

Do good work, focus on yourself, be kind and everything will fall into place.

So, what is impostor syndrome? It is an individual who doubts their accomplishments, and has an internal fear of being "exposed". Despite external evidence that validates their competence.

Stop comparing yourself to others.

Talk to someone in your inner circle. Trust me.
